Replicar una casa en nylon transparente hasta los mas mínimos detalles como los toma corrientes, las chapas, aún las hornillas de la estufa es la propuesta del artista coreano Do Ho Suh; esta resignificación del espacio habitado-inhabitado forma parte de un amplio trabajo con fibra de nylon con alusiones al poder, la fragilidad y los hilos que nos conectan a todos.

Replicated the complete interior of his old home in Korea – only he did it using translucent nylon- includes switches, locks, range hood, is the proposal of the artist Do Ho Suh; this resignification of the space is a part of his whole work with nylon fiber that speak about power, fragility and the thread that connect all of us.

¿Por qué se piratea? ¿por los altos costos agregados al original? ¿por el difícil acceso a ellos? ¿como alternativa para poseer estos bienes? ¿se puede piratear una obra de arte? ¿se piratea lo que tiene alto consumo?
La obra de Carlos Castro, nos hace reflexionar sobre estas preguntas y sobre los circuitos del arte, el precio ha sido siempre símbolo de estatus, de exclusividad; en el campo del arte esto se hace mas evidente y contra estas prácticas es que la propuesta de Carlos Castro adquiere significación.
Su puesta en escena como un vendedor callejero dentro del Feria ArtBo, ofreciendo Arbolitos "falsos" de Jacanamijoy, ranas de caucho ensartadas al estilo Cardozo, tambores de Beatriz Gonzáles, Simpsons de Nadín en caucho, en fin una serie de productos del gran mercado en el bajo comercio ilegal a precios irrisorios, con mucha ironía pero tambien con mucha frescura.

The work of Carlos Castro is an invitation to think in this questions and the circuits of art, the price is an status simbol, the exclusivity; in the field of art this is more evident and againts this practices the Castro´s proposal adquire signification.
As an street seller inside the ArtBo fair in Bogotá, he ofers false Jacanamijoy´s trees, frogs of Cardozo, drums of Beatriz Gonzales, gummy Simpson´s of Nadin an others products of the great art market in the low illegal comerce at cheaper prices, whith humor and irony.

Estuvimos en ArtBo y quedamos muy bien impresionados por la organización, la cantidad de visitantes y la diversidad de la muestra.
Es cierto que su carácter comercial es un impedimento para que las manifestaciones visuales que no corresponden a este ámbito se presenten, pero debemos resaltar la convocatoría que tuvo. La primordial recomedación es la continuidad, para que un evento de este tipo se posicione debe permanencer en el tiempo e ir ampliando su rango de acción y de oferta, los contenidos académicos y críticos tuvieron un espacio pero cada versión debe profundizar en este aspecto.
La difusión alcanzó un buen nivel pero deja aún mucho por desear sobretodo en nuestros medios tan acostumbrados a la crónica de farandula.

En pocos días se inicia la Feria de Arte de Bogotá artBO, organizada por la cámara de comercio de Bogotá y su Agenda Cultural.
Ha tenido una serie de tropiezos en cuanto a las fechas pero creo que hay buen ánimo y mucha expectativa de lo que puede pasar con esta feria; desde los noventa no se daba este evento cuando se llamó FiArt.
Hay Galerías invitadas de México, Venezuela, Perú y Colombia además de Museos y universidades, también habrá un foro académico donde he sido invitado con una ponencia sobre prácticas artísticas, prácticas de apropiación y prácticas de coleccionismo.
Una vez finalizada artBO les haré un recuento de esta experiencia.

In a few days begins the art fair of Bogotá artBO, organized by the Bogota´s chamber of comerce and his cultural agenda.
It has some problems with the dates but I belive that is a good thing for Bogotá, since the 90´s this events called FiArt don´t make it.
Galleries of Mexico, Perú, Venezuela and Colombia was invited, and Museums and Universities too. I was invited to the academic forum with a lecture about artistic, appropiaton and colections practices.
When it finish I will give yours a post of this expseriemce.

Se habla mucho de los códigos del Apocalipsis, de las revelaciones secretas, de las palabras escondidas, Scott Blake ha tomado algunas palabras del libro de la revelación y las ha convertido en código de barras para formar un anagráma del manto de turin con la imagen de Jesús.
Allí también econtrará otros personajes, net-art, flipboks y hasta puede crear su propio código de barras.

People speak a lof of Apocalipse codes, secret revelations, hiden words, Scott Blake take some words of Revelation book and convert them in bar codes to depict a image of Turin´s image of Jesus.
There, also find other portraits, net-art, flipbooks and you can create your own bar code.

Ver los rostros de las personas reconociendose, señalar a los vecinos y comentar ¿cómo ha pasado el tiempo?, sentir que los ojos desprenden lágrimas de nostalgia, recorrer cuarenta o mas años en un segundo... esto sucede al confrontar la memoria viva, los rastros y los rostros de la historia personal.
El museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Bogotá ha abierto la muestra "Obra, Barrio y Gente, el tercer ojo", el pasado sábado 5 de Noviembre con fotografías de archivo de los habitantes del barrio Minuto de Dios; reconstrucción del interior de una casa de los años 60; un taller de fotografía comunitaria y los cambios que tenido el barrio en la sala ayer y hoy.
Esta exposición tiene una modalidad especial, está abierta a los aportes de material fotográfico y documental que los habitantes lleven al museo, de tal forma que cada familia pueda ir construyendo su album a partir de la foto inicial con que solicitó vivienda en le barrio.
El museo es el laboratorio de la memoria que permite crear historia, deconstruirla y resemantizarla.

The museum of contemporary art in Bogota, is showing since the 5th november "obra, barrio y gente, el tercer ojo" with old fotographs of Minuto de Dios neighborhood; domestic installation of 60´s house; communitary workshop of photography and the changes of the barrio in the gallery Today and yesterday.
This exhibit is open to the documental and visual material that the neighbors brings to the museum; each family can build your own family tree.
The museum is the laboratory of memory that allowed create story, deconstruc them and resignify them.
