Evan Penny es un suraficano nacionalzado canadiense, en sus trabajos escultoricos emplea silicona, pigmentos, cabello y aluminio. Sus personajes son personas coumunes y corrientes vistos desde la perspectiva frontal aunque juega con anamorfismos y vistas aereas; parecen caretas, siluetas realistas que juegan con la realidad y la apariencia. Evan Penny is a Southafrican born and Canadian citizen, in his escultorics works uses silicone, pigments, hair and aluminum. Their works are real people sights from the frontal perspective although he plays with anamorfismos and aerial views; they seem masks, realistic silhouettes that the reality and the appearance play with. Hoy se ha anunciado el premio FB (Fernando Botero) en su tercera versión; el ganador es Mauricio Zequeda a quien conozco hace algo mas de tres años por su participación en muestras como "El papel del Dibujo" y "Salón de Agosto". Hace precisamente unos pocos días estuvimos conversando de su trabajo en Valledupar y de su participacion en el premio FB; ahora es el ganador y le extiendo una cordial felicitación a la vez que me interrogo sobre el peso que recae en quienes ganan un premio no tanto por el monto sino por la presión que ejerce sobre el desarrollo de su obra y las implicaciones del mercado.

Today the prize FB (Fernando Botero) was announced in his 3th version ; the winner is Mauricio Zequeda whom I have been knowing for something but three years by his participation in shows like “the paper of the Drawing” and “ August Hall”. He does few days indeed we were talking of his work in Valledupar and its participation in prize FB; now he is the winner and I simultaneously extend a warm congratulation to him that I interrogate myself on the weight that falls to those who not as much gain a prize by the amount but by the pressure that push on the development of its work and the implications of the market.
