These works are motivated by what I would call, a culture of oppositionalism that is addicted to a reactive process of constantly redefining itself.
Oppositionalism in culture may be as base as the positive and negative charge is in physics, a symbiotic relationship that keeps entropy at bay.
However, it seems that in our accelerated times this reactive process, progress as a virtue, has become destructive. Inevitably new standards fall victim to old inflexibilities as we stumble into the future. Our constant quest to re-establish meaning on our own terms has led us into an endless process of creating, defining and arguing for it's own sake.
