Al interponer cualquier objeto frente a una fuente de luz se produce una sombra, los objetos mas sencillos pueden producir sombras inesperadas que nos sorprenden.
La sombra es efímera, existe por un instante o depende del ángulo y la intensidad de la fuente lumínica; Kumi Yamashita ha entendido bien este fenómeno y es la fuente de su práctica artística.
Con sutiles dobleces de un papel, colocando letras, o interponiendo elementos diversos logra sacar sombras donde se destacan los perfiles, las siluetas y las actitudes de personas que sólo existen en nuestra mente.

When interposing any object in front of a light source takes place a shade, the objects but simple they can produce unexpected shades that surprise to us.

With subtle dobleces of a paper, placing letters, or interposing diverse elements manage to remove shades where the profiles, the silhouettes and the attitudes of people stand out who only exist in our mind.
